about the founder
Hi, I’m Shaye! I’m a New York-based creative brand builder and visual stylist with a background in advertising, marketing, and interior design, and the founder of tradewinds.
My love for vintage really took shape when I was living in California. Furnishing my apartment on a budget pushed me to get creative, and I fell in love with searching for pieces that felt lived in and full of character. I realized how much the right object can transform a space and how the right piece of clothing can change the way you carry yourself. That apartment became my first real studio. It was the place where I experimented with color, texture, materials, and the feeling of creating a home that finally reflected who I was.
When I moved back home to the East Coast, I brought that way of living with me. It was slower, more intentional, and rooted in a deeper appreciation for objects with soul. What started as weekends thrifting grew into a real philosophy about sustainability and storytelling. I believe the things we choose to live with should feel considered, personal, and well made.
That belief is what shaped tradewinds. I lead every part of the brand, from creative direction and styling to visual identity, product curation, and campaign concepts. My background in interiors guides everything I create. I think in palettes, materials, and composition, and I care about how pieces live together in real spaces and in real lives.
At its heart, tradewinds is an invitation to live and dress with intention. It celebrates pieces that feel timeless, collected, and expressive in their simplicity. Vintage isn’t a trend. It reflects a belief in longevity, in craftsmanship, and in the unique charm of objects that arrive with a history of their own.
Thank you for being here and supporting this little world I’m building.
